The idea of the Carousel was born in 1994 in Mechelen, Belgium through the meeting of a few members of the Lions Clubs from Mechelen and Stuttgart.

Instead of just creating a twinning between their two clubs, after the first two meetings in 1994 and 1995 they evaluated the idea of uniting other clubs from all of Europe.

in 1999, in Bourg en Bresse the first organizers, the founders of the Carousel and the representatives of six clubs met for the first time.

In 2009 LC Helsinki/Revonsalmi joined the carousel bringing the number to 7 clubs

2 - Germany with LC Stuttgart Airport 

3 - The Netherlands with LC Haarlem En Omstrecken 

4 - France with LC Bourg Brou from Bourg en Bresse

5 - England with Leeds and LC Skyrack 

6 - Italy with LC Parma Farnese from Parma

7 - Finland with LC Helsinki/Revonsalmi from Helsinki
